Using the latest digital innovation and best practice, the new website focuses heavily on creating a clear and more intuitive user experience, particularly when it comes to searching and booking tickets for shows. It also focuses on providing a mobile centric experience as analytics evidence shows a marked shift to smartphone and tablet access during the 2016 festival.
The new website has also taken inspiration from Netflix by adding a Watchlist feature to create a more seamless search and booking experience. Feedback from focus groups highlighted that there was a reliance on paper programmes when planning which shows you were interested in booking and attending. So, rather than having to spend time flicking through a paper brochure circling films you want to see and then going online to book, visitors can now search and filter films by strand, venue, date and time and add them to their personalised online Watchlist. The site also has specific press, industry and learning features and functionality.
Teviot will also continue their support throughout the festival by sponsoring the renowned DOCUMENTARY strand, headlined in 2017 with UK Premieres of Emer Reynolds’ mesmerising documentary The Farthest, following the amazing story of the Voyager 1 mission, and Last Men in Aleppo, a harrowing but essential watch, highlighting the heroic work of the Syrian Civil Defence (The White Helmets).
Teviot Marketing Director Nick Cole is excited by the opportunity to partner with and support such an iconic global festival:
“We are really proud of the new website and our ongoing partnership with EIFF. EIFF is a world-renowned festival that has always looked to innovate and push boundaries. Teviot is Scotland’s oldest privately owned agency and so has similar heritage. Our continued focus on innovation and customer experience are also a great match. It’s been a labour of love but we’re sure that film lovers are going to appreciate the new website!”
Kerryn Kirkpatrick, Director of External Relations at EIFF said:
‘We were thrilled to appoint Teviot – they really wowed us with their ambition and have exceeded our expectations. We’re delighted with the new website and excited to be able to provide our audiences with a much more immersive online experience.”
